Inside: Pierre Gasly Unconvers Bright New Lid for 2022 F1 Season

With all the 2022 car revels taking place, it is safe to say that the new F1 season is right around the corner. Having unveiled their 2022 contender on 14th Feb, Scuderia AlphaTauri, led by Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda, becomes the 5 and most recent team to showcase their new livery. The all-new AT03 with a revised blue and white livery was presented at a grand launch event today.

Alongside this, the Frenchmen, Pierre Gasly also unveiled his 2022 number 10 helmet.

Gasly had a strong 2021 F1 season with the Red Bull sister team. He finished 9th in the drivers’ standings, behind the four best constructors, in a season dominated by his former teammate Max Verstappen. Meanwhile, his teammate Yuki Tsunoda also managed to put up some impressive performances as the season went through.

Pierre Gasly hopes to fight at the front

After his failed stint with Red Bull in 2019, the team relegated him back to Toro Rosso mid-season. Since then, the Frenchman has brushed up his skills significantly. Now, Gasly, a regular entrant in the top 10, is expected to lead the team to newer heights in 2022. The 2022 F1 season marks a shift in the sport’s era, and all the teams want to make the most out of these latest regulations.

In a recent interview reported by BBC, Gasly admitted that the 2022 season is full of surprises. He also discussed other aspects of this exciting venture with the team as well. The 26-year-old said, “I hope this is a year when I can fight at the very front, to finish regularly in the top five and even higher if the car is good enough. The team are quite pleased with the work they have done.”

“Aesthetically (the rules are) a big change. It also makes the cars heavier and affects the way they drive, and I think it adds yet another element and challenge on top of all the other changes to the cars,” Gasly added.

His contract with the team will end at the end of the 2022 season. Though there is a strong chance of an extension of the contract, fans are surely hoping to see him in a car that can match his skills.
