“It Really Just Started as a P*ss-Take”: Daniel Ricciardo Reveals the “Silly” Story Behind Naming Its Supremely Popular Brand “Enchanté”

Daniel Ricciardo has invested his wealth in multiple businesses over the years. From his wine business to his clothing line, Enchante, the Aussie has been busy. The Australian has had a difficult time in recent months. However, in hindsight, he’ll now have more time for his business ventures.

The Australian might not have a racing seat for next year, but he has plentiful business ventures to take care of. One of Ricciardo’s many businesses is his clothing line, Enchante. The 8-race winner reveals how he named the brand.

On F1: Beyond The Grid Podcast, Ricciardo said“It really just started as a bit of a p*ss-take.” He continued,We (Daniel and Natalie Pinkham’s husband, Owain Walbyoff) love UFC. We spend a lot of social time together. When the time is right, we enjoy a drink, and it just became something silly what we were just like, Cheers, and we were like, hmm, Enchante,”

He further continued, “And introduce ourselves and then like, you know you have a few drinks and you start acting as a kid and introduce ourselves like, Enchante. It was just something silly, but it made us always giggle. It made us always feel like the idiots we are.”

Daniel ended his McLaren stint with a P9 finish in Abu Dhabi. The Australian will hope he can return to the grid and drive in F1 again.

Despite his painful exit from the Papaya team, there is no bad blood between McLaren and Daniel Ricciardo. The Woking team gave Daniel a beautiful farewell, and the Australian also left on good terms. Moreover, McLaren CEO Zak Brown hopes to see the Honey Badger back on the F1 grid.

“I’m surprised some of the other teams that looked for drivers didn’t select him. But also I think there were certain teams he wasn’t interested in driving for. So maybe they would have selected him,” Brown points out.

He further added, “But he clearly wants to stay in the game. He won Monza last year; eight races is a lot of races to win. So it’s in there, we just weren’t able to unlock it. And hopefully in another environment, something will unlock it, because I think we’d like to see Daniel on the grid.”
