Lewis Hamilton and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team will be parting ways after the end of the 2024 season. The 7-time champion had activated the release clause option from his contract last season, which will now see him driving under the Mercedes banner.

The 39-year-old did sign a new two-year extension deal with his current team only last summer. But the contract is understood to have a break clause that can be triggered after one year, which Hamilton has now triggered. This brings an end to an amazing 11 years Hamilton had under the Mercedes banner as he looks to embark on a new chapter in his F1 career.
