The two Formula One drivers, Mick Schumacher and his four-time world champion mentor, Sebastian Vettel, are set to unite in a few days’ time at the 2022 Race of Champions. The pair after having endured an average 2021 F1 season with Haas and Aston Martin, respectively, are seeking to start off the year 2022 with a victory.

Hence, Vettel and Schumacher will team up together and represent Germany at this year’s ROC which will take place in Sweden on February 5 and 6. Of course, by the looks of it, winning the title won’t be an easy ask for the duo, considering several other racing stars from around the world will also be joining them on the grid, hoping for some action.

So, with barely days to go for the exciting event, Schumacher has offered a short preview of his and his teammate’s preparations so far in order to tackle any such threats.

What did Mick Schumacher say?

Speaking to Sky Sports F1, Schumacher opened up that the Red Bull world champion would be marching into this year’s ROC with no preparations whatsoever. The Haas driver, on the other hand, has managed to get himself some practice ahead of the races in Sweden this weekend.

We are both very excited. Seb goes into the race without any practice, I will do the practice, and let’s see if it will pay off. But I think the main thing is to have fun!” he said.

ROC draw this year for Germany

Team Germany will be facing the top two finishers from Thursday’s eROC All-Stars final. And if Schumacher and Vettel do manage to defeat their round 1 opponents, they then get to face either Team USA or Team Latin America.

Later on Sunday, the Race of Champions draw has pulled out quite interesting one-on-one battles for the two Germans. W-Series driver, Jamie Chadwick will face Schumacher in round 1 while Vettel will face his F1 colleague, Valtteri Bottas in the round of 16.

Other F1 drivers that will take part in Sunday’s final are Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard. Hence, a tough challenge awaits Vettel and Schumacher who are looking to bring Germany back on top for the first time since 2018. But, which team will win the Nations Cup?
