The Olympics have hijacked F1! The glorious festival of sports has spared no one. From Lewis Hamilton to Fred Vasseur, everybody has indulged themselves in the greatest sporting event. They are cheering for their country’s heroes and also appreciating the outstanding victories of winners from different countries. Lando Norris has finally joined the party. The McLaren driver seems particularly interested in skateboarding. Why? Because his quadrant team member was competing for gold.
Like most F1 drivers, Lando Norris took to social media to congratulate the winner of the park skateboarding event. Norris shared a celebratory post on his Instagram Story for Australian skateboarder Keegan Palmer. The Brit shared a snap of Palmer with an exaggerated version of ‘Keegan’ as the caption and tagged the 21-year-old prodigy.
The USA is considered the powerhouse of park skateboarding. This is because they have the most medals in the event. However, Keegan’s brilliant performance and flair ousted America’s Gold medal dreams. And such a victory is worth celebrating. Lando Norris was rooting for the young Aussie to take the top spot and when he did, Norris couldn’t keep his content.

Moreover, Palmer continues his Olympic streak. His first gold medal came in Tokyo in 2020 (held in 2021), when he was just 17.
Palmer won gold with his first run score, despite falling on his final runs. Tom Schaar secured silver with a 92.23 on his second run, and Augusto Akio took bronze with a 91.85 on his final run. Akio also entertained the crowd by juggling before the prelims and performing a trick with his skateboard in his mouth.
