The 2020 season has not treated Sebastian Vettel very well as the German has been lingering outside the top 10 over most of the race weekends. Recently, Vettel revealed that despite “swimming against the tide” over this season, he is happy to continue in Formula 1 through 2021.

So, I think that’s the real, not conclusion, but probably a lesson to myself that I’m happy to keep swimming despite as you put it, the tide maybe facing the opposite way.”

Vettel is yet to get himself up to the top 10 in the drivers’ standings. As of now, the German is sitting in P14 having scored a measly 18 points. Meanwhile, his teammate has been remarkable by consistently churning out top 10 finishes.

The four-time world champion hinted that he is looking to get himself back in form following his switch to Aston Martin Racing next season. “I think you always look for other ways and alternatives to find a nicer swim,” he said.

But yeah, I’m pretty sure that there’s something left for me and looking forward to that. So, I think the real answer is I’m happy to keep swimming,” Vettel added.

Although Vettel has struggled through the course of this season, he still has four more races to give a commanding end to his 2020 outing.

Can Vettel break his string of poor performances in Turkey this weekend?

The chances of witnessing Vettel get himself into the top 8 at the Turkish Grand Prix is very slim. The circuit’s nature might just be a bit too fast for Ferrari, as the Maranello-outfit’s strong suits are restricted to low-speed circuits.

However, the fact that Istanbul Park has not seen racing in almost a decade means that the track will be green and very slippery through the early part of the weekend.

Hence, if Vettel could manage to position his car at the right places of the circuit, he will definitely have a shot at bringing his car home in points. But will he manage to do that?
