The 2022 FIFA World Cup is finally coming to an end. Two of the biggest teams in all of world soccer, France and Argentina, are squaring up against each other for the biggest prize in International soccer. And George Russell has pledged his allegiance.

The World Cup comes this year at the most perfect time for F1 drivers and fans. It’s the off-season and all the drivers have some downtime to enjoy the sport and support their favorite teams. That being said, Russell’s declaration has sent the whole F1 Twittersphere into a frenzy!

Today’s World Cup final could as well be the swansong for the greatest soccer player of all time, Lionel Messi. That being said, he has the formidable challenge of Kylian Mbappe & Co. to thwart first. And for George Russell, he’s keen on providing every bit of support he can to the great Argentine on his path to glory.

During the ongoing World Cup final, George Russell took to Instagram to share a story of watching the match. Well, it became pretty clear after seeing the post that Russell was in fact in Messi’s camp. And who can blame him? Messi registered his 12th World Cup goal, putting him right up there with record holder Pele and taking him 5th overall as the most goals scored.
