After an intense 22-race F1 season in 2021, drivers are relaxing during the much-needed winter break. With festivities around the corner, our favorite drivers are spending quality time with their families and friends. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc was recently spotted in a restaurant in Mexico where he was out for dinner with friends.
Leclerc had a roller-coaster season in 2021 with the Maranello team. He finished 7th in the drivers’ standings, with 159 points and 1 podium finish in Silverstone. The Monegasque got two pole positions which speak for his single lap prowess. However, he had an inconsistent season with some unfortunate crashes as well. A crash during the Qualifying season in Monaco forced him out of the race.
To the fans’ delight, Ferrari had 18 double points finishes this season, more than any other team. The two drivers’ also helped the team finish the “best of the rest” in the constructors’ standings.

“We should not forget that in his season, there are a couple of examples, which is Monaco and Budapest, where he didn’t score but I think he has been unlucky as a driver in those occasions,” said Binotto as reported by MSN.
“Without that, it’s difficult to say what he would have finished at the end of the race, but maybe at least 40 points missing on his classification. So without that again I think he would have been a lot further ahead in the championship,” added the Italian team boss.

The power unit issue is a thing of the past for the Maranello team, but their issues with overtaking are yet to be rectified.
