But Serena suffered an unfortunate loss of temper in her 2017 finals against Naomi Osaka. The chair umpire, Carlos Ramos, handed Williams a series of code violations against her.
The American was later handed a point penalty, as well as a game penalty against her. Furthermore, she also labeled the umpire a “Liar” and a “cheat”. Osaka eventually won the match 6-2, 6-4, and lifted her maiden Grand Slam in Tennis.
