The recipient of the ‘Serena Slam’ spoke highly of F1’s GOAT, Lewis Hamilton. In an old video before her retirement, Serena Williams praised major admiration for the Mercedes driver.

Serena Williams and Lewis Hamilton are two of the biggest icons in their respective sport. Apart from dominating their rivals for years, the duo has also inspired millions of people. They have also paved the way for people with different diversities and taken advantage of their platform to raise important social concerns.

Speaking at a press conference, Serena Williams said, “Lewis and I are super close. I’ve known him for years and we just, I love that guy. He’s a really good friend of mine.”

The 23 Grand Slam winner also complimented the Mercedes driver’s champion mentality. The Tennis superstar added, “The Guy is such a champion, he is such a champion’s mindset like I look at what he does training and physically and his job is it is it’s really no words for it to be honest.”

“He is, for me, the greatest driver that our generation has seen and I’m confident that he will break the record of Michael Schumacher, who was also a fabulous driver.”

Williams’ prediction almost came true last year. However, a controversial safety car ruled out Lewis’s chances of winning his record-breaking 8th World Title.

Lewis Hamilton writes a poignant tribute to GOAT Serena Williams

Before his outing at Zandvoort, Hamilton paid tribute to one of the most celebrated Tennis athletes in history. Serena Williams announced before the start of the US Open that it would be her last tournament. Lewis Hamilton took this opportunity to write an emotional message to “one of a kind” Tennis titan.

Hamilton shared on his Instagram, stating, “We will never see another Serena. She’s one of a kind. She came through like a wrecking ball and has been so spectacular to witness.” He further admired her fierceness, power, and strength in her mind and both.

The Mercedes driver ended his post by thanking Serena Williams for inspiring him to be better in everything he does. He wished the Tennis star happiness and luck for her next chapter in life before concluding his emotional post.
