Lewis Hamilton drove a sensational race and won his seventh-world championship title at the Turkish Grand Prix. The grid put up a brilliant race under tough conditions. Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel and Sergio Perez claimed their first podium of the season.
Lewis Hamilton’s drive at Istanbul was absolutely faultless. The top contenders of the championship were spinning all around the circuit. Lewis Hamilton’s teammate, Valtteri Bottas, spun six times during the race.
Meanwhile, the Briton displayed utmost patience and impressive skills behind the wheel to win the race starting from P6. Ross Brawn in his column discussed Hamilton’s weakness. He said, “He sometimes seems to get emotional on the radio but the team know how to handle that through the calmness of his engineer Pete Bonnington.”

“Bono doesn’t get fazed by anything Lewis says and has a great riposte when he gets too excited. Everyone in that team works so well together,” Brawn further added.
A challenging weekend for Lewis Hamilton
The silver arrows were having a tough weekend at Istanbul. They were off their pace throughout Friday’s practice session. Some tough weather later blessed the qualifying session. The cars were finding it tough to find any grip.

Lewis Hamilton qualified out of the Top 5. He started the race from P6 under challenging conditions on the track. Brawn stated, “He wins when he’s not given any opposition and he wins when he is given a big challenge.”

Hamilton started from P6, had a great first lap and rose to P3 before falling back to P6. But the decision to change his intermediate tyres did great for the Hamilton. As he conjured up a one-stop race and won with over a half-a-second margin.
Lewis Hamilton was very emotional after his championship win. As all eyes were on the champion, he got out of his car and embraced his victory. “I’m lost of words,” expressed an emotional champion.

It was a champion drive from the Briton. A drive worthy of equaling Michael Schumacher’s record of seven championship title wins. Lewis Hamilton has assured that he will come back in 2021. It will be exciting to see whether Hamilton will break the record with another title next year.
