This weekend marks the final Formula One race of the 2020 season. After an interrupted and truncated season, Lewis Hamilton is the reigning seven-time world champion. However, the season is not over yet, as there is one last race to contest. After a Bahrain double-header, the F1 paddock will wrap up with the 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
This Friday onwards, 20 F1 cars will race for the last time in 2020. Although the champions have been crowned, there are still a final few places on the championship to sort out. Otherwise, this race is solely for the sake of pride or an audition for a seat in a team.
This weekend, the drivers and teams make landfall at the Yas Marina Circuit as always. Free practice 1 kicks off on December 11, 13:00 local time, with free practice 2 at 17:00 local time. On Saturday, things commence with free practice 3 at 14:00 local time. Qualifying follows, soon afterward, at 17:00 local time. Finally, Sunday’s race at 17:10 local time brings everything to a close.

Who will triumph at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix?
Of course, there is a massive question surrounding Lewis Hamilton’s participation. The driver proved that, champion or not, nobody was immune to COVID-19. This did grant George Russell his Mercedes AMG F1 debut, and he came ever so close to a maiden win or podium.
However, that is another story in itself. So, one has to wonder if Hamilton will recover in time and turn in a negative test to clear him to race. If he does not test negative, Russell may well have another chance to seize glory, and he will be sure to grab the golden opportunity with both hands.
