There comes a point in every athlete’s life when they have to consider retirement. Lewis Hamilton is no exception. However, the Brit is not fazed by the next phase of his life. “Don’t think there’s anything that I can’t do,” says Hamilton! However, despite this go-getter attitude, there are certain things he can’t do. Although lessons from his friend Serena Williams should help him out.

Back in 2020, in a YouTube series by Mercedes, the team allowed fans to ask the Brit some questions. So when the seven-time world champion came across the ‘life after F1’ question, he had a lot to share.

Showcasing his champion’s spirit, Hamilton said, “I don’t think there’s anything that I can’t do if I’m really honest.” However, on a more humble note, he said, “It’s discovering what those are, then there’ll be a list. But there’s plenty of things I can’t do. Like I’m terrible at tennis.”

However, Hamilton did not count himself out. This is where he can use his friend Serena Williams‘ help. “If I have some lessons, I bet you any money I can be pretty good,” admitted Hamilton.

“I just feel like whatever it is, if I apply myself that way I have to my job that I still do today and have my whole career, I just honestly don’t think there’s anything that I can’t do,” he concluded on a positive note.

Serena Williams absolutely adores Lewis Hamilton

The retired tennis legend has been a friend to the Brit for ages. In 2020, she even expressed her admiration for the world champion after he broke one of Michael Schumacher‘s records. Hamilton won the 2020 Russian Grand Prix to become the driver with the most wins in F1 (92). Now, roughly two years later, the 37-year-old has 103 wins in his bag.

“Lewis and I are super close. I’ve known him for years. I love that guy. He’s a really good friend of mine. The guy is such a champion, has such a champion’s mindset. I look at what he does training, physically, his job. It’s really no words for it, to be honest,” she admitted.
