Lewis Hamilton is a quite popular personality as an icon and role model. Many budding sports persons idolize Hamilton for just the way he has achieved so much from a relatively humble background. One such young sports person is Emma Raducanu. The young tennis star is the first British female Grand Slam champion in the last 44 years.

Emma Raducanu won the 2021 US Open Singles title historically. She went on to win the coveted Grand Slam title from the qualifying round. She became the first qualifier to accomplish such a feat at any Grand Slam event.

For this exceptional performance, Raducanu was officially made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by King Charles III. Upon this, the 20-year-old said, “It’s been great to receive my honor today from his Majesty the King – I feel extremely grateful.”

Raducanu might resonate with her role model, Lewis Hamilton as well on receiving the MBE. Even Hamilton received the MBE honor back in 2009 in the wake of his first F1 world championship.

Back in 2021, Raducanu spoke about how Hamilton helped her as a role model. As per ESPN, she said, “(Hamilton) said: ‘Be patient, you’ve just got to ride the wave. It’s all good. Don’t worry’. Good reassurance.”

“He has been such a good role model for me in terms of helping me out through the next stages.”

Federer surprised Lewis Hamilton and Co. by paying a visit to the Mercedes garage at the 2022 Spanish GP this season. The Swiss had lots of chats and clicked pictures with Hamilton and his teammate, George Russell.

Hamilton posted the pics with Federer and Russell on his Instagram stories ahead of qualifying in Spain. Roger too posted on his social media wishing the Mercedes drivers luck for the Spanish GP race.
