F1 is back in the United States of America. No, not at the conventional Circuit of The Americas track in Austin, but to a new venue. The race is set to take place around the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Hard Rock Stadium is home to NFL’s famous Miami Dolphins franchise and they couldn’t wait to take a look around the circuit.

By this time, everyone is aware that Miami is all set to host the inaugural Grand Prix race in their history. The track selected for the race is a temporarily built street circuit that goes around the Hard Rock Stadium and its private facilities in the suburbs of Miami Gardens, Florida.

The Miami Dolphins players took a tour of the circuit and they seemed to have loved it. The players were seen riding an open-top vehicle around the track. They took a walk around the way and clicked a group photo before calling it a day.

How did F1 Manage to have a race around the Hard Rock Stadium?

As of 2018, the race organizing committee moved in with a proposal to host the race. However, the F1 governing body didn’t give a positive nod due to the construction of the Port of Miami. However, when the venue was changed from the Downtown area to near Hard Rock Stadium and its parking lots, it was given a go-ahead. Despite targeting the 2021 season, as the inaugural year, the date shifted a year later due to some complications.

The arena is a multipurpose venue used for different venues. From NFL to Tennis, to Soccer to NCAA events the list goes on. Tyler Epp, COO of the Miami Grand Prix, conveyed, “The vast majority of the Miami International Autodrome is temporary. It has been a monumental effort by our entire team to get the circuit, and the rest of the campus, to where we are.”

“Never Seen a Race to Have So Much Demand” – Christian Horner Overwhelmed By the Extreme Miami F1 ‘Hype’

“In essence, the majority of the Miami Open campus has been repurposed for Formula 1 and Hard Rock Stadium has been and will continue to be the centerpiece of our Formula 1 operation, housing the teams, drivers, media and creating a stunning backdrop for, what we believe, will be one of the best circuits on the Formula 1 schedule,” the Chief Operating Officer further stated.

This famous stadium in Miami is owned by Stephen M. Ross, a Detroit-born philanthropist, and businessman. Interestingly, Ross also owns the Miami Dolphins. Previously known as the Sun Life Stadium, the venue got its name after Hard Rock Cafe Inc. took over as the principal owner.
