Ever since the heart-breaking title showdown in Abu Dhabi, Lewis Hamilton has been missing from all the social media platforms including Instagram and Twitter.
When the world asked why, his brother, Nicholas Hamilton, revealed that the seven-time world champion opted to take a break due to the substantial level of toxicity. Hence, while we await the return of Hamilton, here’s a fun little banter that took place between Hamilton and 20-time Tennis Grand Slam winner, Novak Djokovic, on Instagram.

What was the banter about?
Earlier in 2021, Hamilton posted a couple of pictures on Instagram. While the first picture was of his younger self sporting a t-shirt that read ‘Tennis’, the latter was a candid picture of his present self walking in the paddock sporting a t-shirt that had the first picture printed on it.

He further captioned it ‘coming soon’, hinting at the t-shirt being the latest addition to his merchandise. Even the official Instagram handle of Mercedes commented under the post, asking when the merchandise will drop in. “Merch drop when?” the comment read.
But, it was neither Hamilton nor Mercedes that garnered the spotlight. Instead, an unexpected guest in the form of Novak Djokovic showed up in the comments section.

Djokovic responds to the Lewis Hamilton post
The Serbian joked about Hamilton’s tee that read ‘Tennis’ and heaved a sigh of relief that the Briton chose motorsport racing over tennis as his career. Why? Well, because Djokovic hilariously reckoned that Hamilton could have left most of the tennis stars in trouble had he become a tennis player.

“I love the t-shirt you got on the photo as a boy. By the way, good that you chose car racing instead of tennis… Otherwise, we would all be in trouble,” Djokovic wrote.
