As Apex Legends Season 5 is fast approaching, leaks surrounding teasers for the new season are widespread. However, some fresh fan-made concepts are featuring new legends or potential reworks for some existing legends.

A Twitter user, luminizampel, is one such fan. The graphic designer from the Philippines has come up with her finalized design for an Apex Legends original character named Sunbird. Jason McCord, Design Director of Apex Legends for Respawn Entertainment, later retweeted the graphic designer’s character design for Sunbird. He said, “Cool character design for Apex. I would play as Sunbird!”

Who Is Sunbird In Apex Legends?

“A jovial yet curious medical engineer with good intentions yet a dubious past, she’s in the games to fund rehabilitation of her home planet after the war,” says luminizampel about Sunbird.

Sunbird is a galactic medical engineer working for the IMC (Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation). She provides healthcare technology for IMC soldiers, assisting them to recover after lethal missions promptly. However, in remote communities, she is the zenith of healthcare. Sunbird serves people disabled by the Frontier War to get on with their lives by providing them with prosthetics.

Sunbird defected after witnessing IMC destroy her hometown. After the war, she decided to partake in the Apex Games to fight to raise money to rebuild and reclaim her home.

However, her history of working with the IMC has added to the controversy. This leads to people questioning her real purposes and actual status with the organization. Moreover, she participates in the Games to help her research for prosthetic prototypes and expand her philanthropic motives.

Sunbird is associated with Bangalore because of their collective past with IMC. During the Apex Games, she befriended Lifeline, another medical specialist.

Abilities Of The Fan-Made Legend

Link Repair (Tactical Ability)- This ability allows her to link with an ally, regenerating shields over time briefly. Any healing items used by Sunbird or the linked partner during the link will affect them both.

Hardlight Steps (Passive Ability)- This ability renders Sunbird’s footsteps inaudible, also allowing her to sprint while crouched. Kicking and landing on enemies deal more damage too.

Bright Side (Ultimate Ability)- This ability throws a disruptor that reverses enemy damage and heals your squad over time. It also activates friendly fire for a while.
