Stan Wawrinka On His Return To Tennis
Stan Wawrinka had to work for his victory at the Challenger event in Prague. His opponent Roman Safuillin pushed him to a deciding set which Stan ended up winning 6-1. However, Stan didn’t seem to have been too worried about the deciding set and said, “It was as expected, after six months being out. I came here to find some rhythm and check where I am. I’m happy for the victory for sure. There’s a lot of work to do, but the most important thing was to win the match, so I can play again here.”

Stan went on to talk about how the match went and how he plans on improving after not playing for months. He said, “I think he played better [in the second set]. I was moving slower and wasn’t aggressive enough. Again, I’m here to play as much as I can. It’s different from practising all the time. I’m far from where I want to be, but that’s the reason I’m here. It’s a process and it takes time after so many months away from the competition.”

Fans are glad to see Stan playing. They will no doubt want him to return the prowess he displayed through 2014-2016. Back then, the Swiss star was able to challenge the toughest players including the ‘Big 3’. In addition to that, he also won three Grand Slams which is no mean feat!

However, due to injuries, Wawrinka lost his position at the peak of this sport. Let’s hope he succeeds in putting up a topnotch performance!
