Former CS: GO player and FaZe Clan’s current coach, Janko Paunovic is very upset about the current situation of some CS: GO organizations. And yes, it has to do with the spectator bug scandal that had rocked the community some time ago. Recently, the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) suspended 37 CS: GO coaches following its investigation.

CS: GO Organizations shift the banned coaches to the “Analyst” position

Firstly, Janko points out the lack of effective measures put in place by these organizations. Specifically talking about Heroic and ENCE, he rues that their coaches intentionally cheated in tournaments, but still got away with insignificant repercussions. They were simply moved to the position of analysts.

Janko also cites Joshua “Steel” Nissa, who was banned from CS: GO for match-fixing. Following his ban, Steel was not even allowed to be involved in the practical side of things. Janko demands a similar imposition on the coaches banned for exploiting the spectator bug.

It’s not personal for Janko

Janko also clarifies that his statements are not based on any personal grudges with any of the coaches. Instead, he is thinking about the bigger picture here. The former CS: GO writes how some of the coaches that have been banned are nice people, like Twitsa, but also asserts that they have ‘smeared the whole scene.’

Why are CS: GO players not punished along with the coaches?

Lastly, the FaZe coach talks about the players under these coaches. He believes the players were aware of what was going on, but they still played along.

“How none of the players got punished for this is beyond me.”

Ultimately, the whole debate revolves around the treatment of the banned coaches. None of them, or indeed the players, have faced any severe consequences. And many from the community are unhappy about it. Sports around the world propagate the ideals of fair play, and such a breach of faith is unfortunate.
