The Francis Ngannou vs Jon Jones saga might not reach the Octagon. It is marred with a plethora of potholes, and Dana White just does not see that fight taking place.

In these times, there is a lot of financial crunch in all major sports leagues across the world. Even though UFC is holding live events, the profit it garners cannot compare to live events.

Thus, a money fight as big as Ngannou vs Jones cannot take place today. However, many people suggest that the two fight at a price lower than what their fight actually could make. But of course, that will mean compromising their own value.

Therefore, when Ariel Helwani asked Ngannou whether he would fight Jones at the price that he fought Jairzinho Rozenstruik for, his answer was pretty clear.

“Oh, no no! Fu*k no! Fu*king no! What are you talking about?! No! Be clear! Be sure about that! That’s not happening!”

Of course, not getting what you deserve does not sit well with anyone. Let alone fighters, who risk it all to fight a dangerous man inside a cage. But now that that’s done, where are we with Jones’ shift to Heavyweight?

When will Jon Jones move to Heavyweight, now that fight with Francis Ngannou is out of the question?

“Bones” was anticipating a move up to the Heavyweight Division for a long time. He dominated the Light Heavyweight Division like no one else has, and shifting divisions seemed like the only viable option to improve his game. The only viable option to further the greatness of the legacy that he will leave behind.

And he edged very close to it this time around. After watching Ovince Saint Preux shift to Heavyweight at UFC, Jones took to Twitter to express his feelings about the match.

But the statement that Dana White made threw a wrench into all sorts of plans. Jones was very emotional about the same, stating that he felt like someone put a roof on the accomplishments that he can achieve.
