“Fear Is Different From Danger.”- Israel Adesanya Sends Yoel Romero A Message

Two title fights will take place at UFC 248. The main event will feature the Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya defending his belt against Yoel Romero. UFC 248 will be Adesanya’s first attempt at a title defense. In the co-main event, fighters from the women’s strawweight division will battle it out for the title. The title is currently held by Chinese national, Zhang Weili. She will be taking on Joanna Jedrzejczyk in an attempt to defend her title.

As the event closes in, Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya features on social media. He does so in an attempt to promote the event. The City Kickboxing Team fighter goes into this fight with a record of 18-0. Adesanya earned the belt with a second-round knockout against Robert Whittaker. The fight took place in front of 57,000 fans in Melbourne, Australia. Adesanya has been out of action since October 2019.

Yoel Romero, coming off of 2 consecutive losses. It begs the question of whether Romero really is deserving of getting a crack at the title. His first of the two losses came against Robert Whittaker in the fifth round by split decision. His latest loss came at the hands of the number one contender for the Middleweight title, Paulo Costa. This fight came to an end in the third round by unanimous decision.

Israel Adesanya on His Match-Up With Yoel Romero

For his first title defense, Israel Adesanya was angling to get a fight against the Brazilian Paulo Costa. But Costa was put out of commission due to an injury. Which meant that Yoel Romero was the next viable option. Adesanya says that he wants to be the first person to put him down properly. He says fighters have tried but they have not been able to stop him properly. Romero claims he is happy that he has been given this opportunity to take a shot at the title.

UFC 248 takes place on Sunday 8th of March at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
