FEDAL: Suite Named Roger Federer at Rafa Nadal Academy

In 2016, Rafael Nadal inaugurated his academy in his home town Mallorca, Spain. Over the years, it has gone on to become one of the best and renowned tennis training centers in the world. Rafa Nadal Academy is situated inside the Rafa Nadal Sports Center. And the sports center has a special feature that symbolizes the friendship between Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer.

What does Suite Roger Federer have?

In a recent interview, Nadal revealed that his sports center hosts two luxury suites. The first one is named after Nadal himself. And the second one is named after fellow rival Roger Federer. It shows the respect that both the 20-time Grand Slam champions hold for each other.

The chief attraction of the suite is the king-size bed and suite bathroom with bathtub. Further, other amenities include a central court view terrace, free access to the fitness center, semi-Olympic indoor pool, outdoor pool, and a Spa, sauna, and steam bath.

Federer inaugurates Nadal’s Academy with Rafael Nadal in 2016

Federer was very much present in the inauguration when it happened in 2016. As described by the Academy’s website, it was an emotional event for Nadal and was attended by his fiercest rival.

“I admire everything and how you do it, and I hope you can still do it for many more years to come. I really wish you good health, I think it’s of the utmost importance,” Federer had said.

Nadal and Federer serve as great inspirations for the students. Their stature in the game proved to be great for raising the Rafa Nadal Academy.

“To share this with Roger is an unforgettable day. For Roger to share this important moment, for me and my family, [it] really means a lot,” Nadal said.

“I hope the kids are going to learn from this great man. He’s one of the greatest we’ve ever had. His attitude speaks for itself. I hope it’s going to be a wonderful academy,” Federer said. “One thing’s for sure, I know where I’m going to send my kids if they want to learn tennis. I’m going to send them right here!”

Federer has been a close associate to the Academy. The sports center also holds the Rafa Nadal International School. Here, students live and study their regular academics coupled with tennis training as well. Recently, Federer addressed the graduating students of 2020. He tried his best in inducing positivity during these troublesome times of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Hello everybody at the Rafa Nadal Academy. Many congratulations on everybody who graduates today. I wish you all the very best for the future,” Federer addressed.

Roger Federer’s kind gesture to send two girls to Nadal’s academy

Earlier this year, two Italian girls became famous after a video of them playing tennis across two roofs went viral. They were diehard fans of Federer, and thus the Swiss Maestro paid them a visit. He later revealed that he had sent the two girls to the Rafa Nadal Academy.

“Personally, for me, that was a very special moment in my career as a tennis player to surprise a fan or children like Carola and Vittoria.

“The surprises are not over yet. I happen to know a really good summer camp. That would be perfect for you two girls. I have spoken to Rafa Nadal Academy and Barilla and I would like to send you there, so why don’t you start packing?” Federer said.
