After Djokovic’s three setter victory against Cilic, he progressed towards the 47th episode of the tennis match against the Swiss legend, Roger Federer. The city of Paris packs to witness the dominated European kings of tennis play for a place in the final. It was an epic semifinal match in the Paris Masters which lasted for about three hours.
Though Federer lost 7-6 (8-6) 5-7 7-6 (7-3) to the Serbian, but most of the Federer fans globally thought tennis must have the concept of ‘draw’. The 37-year-old Swiss spurned a set point in the opening one. However, Djokovic sealed the set. Federer saved two match points in the second set and continued his resilience in the match. He broke Novak’s serve (which was the first service break of the match) and stretched the semifinal into the third-set. With today’s victory Djokovic claims his fourth straight win over the Swiss legend.
Federer brings out the best from every tennis player. According to Djokovic, along with the Wimbledon semi-final against the spaniard, Nadal, the semifinal in Paris definitely one of the thrilling matches this season. “Novak is obviously on a roll. You can feel it. At the end it came down to a few things here and there,” said Federer. “But overall I’m happy with my game. It’s better than last week in Basel. There I won the tournament and here I played in the semis and it needed somebody of Novak’s calibre to beat me.”

“This is my best match of the year, that’s for sure. Big respect to Roger,” Djokovic said, and addressed the crowd in French. “Whenever I play Roger, he demands the best of me. When you lose a close match like this, you always have regrets,” he said. “Losing is never fun, so that’s why I guess I have this face right now.” Next, in the tomorrow’s final Djokovic will meet Karen Khachanov after the Russian defeated Dominic Thiem. Khachanov outplayed Dominic Thiem 6-4, 6-1. Khachanov pulled off the Kremlin Cup in Moscow last month for his third career title. Djokovic will be playing for the fifth Paris Masters title and 73rd career title. Additionally, on Monday he will be the number one tennis player of this planet.
