” I did feel good, especially in the first set. In the second set a little less maybe. It was an important game to hold being down love-40. That’s exactly the kind of match it can become.” said Federer.

Earlier, Andy Murray defeated Frenchman Richard Gasquet after coming back from a set down, to win 4-6 6-1 6-4.

“I fought and gave everything I had, but thankfully it’s just been enough in the last two days.”said Murray.

After winning Rogers Cup, Murray looks in fine touch as he enters the semis here, and would like to continue the momentum at Flushing Meadows.

Another 3-set encounter for Andy after his win over Dimitrov.

“Physically I’m tired and my body hurts, but with the US Open coming up these matches are good for me physically and mentally to get through.”

Murray will face Federer next and if he manages to beat the Swiss, he will be seeded second at the US Open.
