The usually calm Swiss legend, Roger Federer, lashed out on Boris Becker after the latter passed a rather aggressive statement. Becker claimed that Federer is not as nice as he seems. In addition, Becker also went out open about the Nole-Federer relationship, saying that both of them rather dislike each other. This comes in stark contrast to the respect that both Novak and Roger have been showing each other lately, both on and off the court.The matter created an unnecessary tumult in the tennis world, with the Federer fans criticizing Becker of being naive.

In a recent statement by Federer, he clearly expressed his discontent over the German’s remarks. ” I find such comments unnecessary. He cannot know whether I have a problem with Novak. It’s true in the beginning I didn’t like his behavior on the court but today he behaves wonderfully and is extremely fair. We don’t spend a lot of time together. Out best friends are other people. But when we meet we are relaxed and talk as normal.”, said the seven-time Wimbledon Champion.
Federer didn’t stop there. He added “Becker has no clue. He should actually know me well enough to know that I’m a relaxed guy. I’m friendly and polite to people, with no need to change my behavior. Sure, sometimes I have to collect myself when I’m tired or in a bad mood, but that’s part of the job.”
Becker will clearly have a few things to say about this. Nonetheless, a repeat of last year’s final is all we want to see at the moment. Let the battle remain on the court.
