

He is the unprecedented king of tennis at all times. Irrespective of whether he wins loses or doesn’t play, people cannot find a reason to hate him. He’s the Swiss legend, Roger Federer who breaks his own remarkable records and creates history every time he strikes the tennis ball with is Wilson wand. Federer has now owned the ATP’s fans’ favourite award for the 16th year in a row. Moreover, the 20-time Grand slam champion has surpassed his rivals, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. The Swiss received the most votes by his fans on the ATP website. Also, he does spend efficient time with his fans in taking photographs and giving autographs.

This year Federer added one more Grand Slam title to his name in Melbourne. He became the oldest World Number one in the 45-year history of the ATP Rankings. In addition to that, Federer seized his 99th ATP crown in his hometown tournament in Basel. Now he will be competing at the Nitto ATP Finals in London. Kevin Anderson, Dominic Thiem and Kei Nishikori have been drawn against Federer in the group stages. The Basel native played an unforgettable match against the South African, Anderson. Anderson bounced back from two sets to love down to defeat the reigning champion at Wimbledon in July en route to his maiden final.

Alongside Federer, Novak Djokovic won the player-of-the-year and comeback player honours. The second of the 2018 tennis season has been incredibly kind to the Serbian. He won two slams and got back to the apex position. The Spaniard, Rafael Nadal won the best sportsmanship trophy but it was the supporters’ accolade that went to Federer.
Additionally, on the doubles circuit, Mike Bryan and Jack Sock won the Fan’s Favorite doubles players for the first time together. This year they clinched Wimbledon and US Open titles. Mike’s twin, Bob, has been sidelined with a hip injury since the Mutua Madrid Open in May.
