Simona Halep says she sorely missed playing tennis

“My first hit after 3.5 weeks. It feels like I’ve been away a lot longer because I missed playing so much,” Halep wrote.

She added that the spell in the sidelines was the “best” as it made her realize that though she leads a good life, there’s always a longing inside of her to return to the sport.

“This period was the best because, even if I have a wonderful life, I could sense what I feel about tennis and how I feel when I can’t play it,” the 2019 Wimbledon champion wrote.
