The alleged fixing scandal was planned by ex-football players Carlos Aranda and Raul Bravo. The police recorded the ex-football player encouraging a contact to bet on Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez match that they would lose their Wimbledon 2017 match, as it happened.

The Police revealed that Carlos Aranda “has information on top-level sporting events.” They added that “in the match are two people of great prestige at the sports level such as Feliciano López Díaz-Guerra and Marc López Tarrés.”

According to the reports of Police, Carlos Aranda had already declared on July 5 at 17:17 that Felicia no Lopez and Marc Lopez will go on to lose their first round match at the Wimbledon 2017. Aranda also encouraged someone to bet on the match with him getting 50% of the commission.

Carlos Aranda asked his contact, “I have information about a game, do you want it?”

“Yes, man, of course, if you can”, replied the other person. Aranda also demanded that he pay 50% of what he won with the bets. “You can put whatever you want, it’s Wimbledon, the kid!

Carlos Aranda concluded two minutes before the match began, “What Feliciano Lopez loses and his partner, is doubles.”

Feliciano Lopez, however, put the matter to his lawyer and also denied the allegations. He said, “We have nothing to do, they have no right to dirty our names like that.”
