The Zimbabwean cricket chairman, Wilson Manase, on Sunday confirmed that that their cricket team would tour Pakistan during mid May this year.
Earlier, the PCB had tweeted about the same and had also described Zimbabwe’s full itenary. The African nation which is set to become the first full member team to visit Pakistan on a cricketing tour, would play two T20s and 3ODIs starting from the 22nd May. All the matches are scheduled to happen at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore.
The Zimbabwean team director Alistair Campbell stated that this tour is a part of establishing a renewed bilateral relationship with Pakistan. He also added that Pakistan would reciprocate by touring Zimbabwe in August following India and New Zealand.
The last played international game in Pakistan was abandoned midway in March’09, when a militant group attacked the Sri Lankan cricket team’s bus in Lahore and since then, no full member team has toured the nation and UAE was henceforth used as a ‘home’ ground for Pakistan.
