Andreas Pereira stepped in pre-season again as he scored one of the best goals he’ll ever score in a pre-season game against newly promoted Premier League side Brentford. The match was played out in front of a crowd of 30,000 fans at Old Trafford.
Pereira’s goal gave United the lead after Shandon Baptiste canceled out Anthony Elanga’s opener for United. However, the red devils couldn’t hold on to the lead as Bryan Mbuemo scored in the 78th minute to secure a draw for Brentford.

Pereira scored an outrageous volley that put an exclamation mark on a brilliant performance. He passed the ball relatively well and dropped deep in the CDM role pretty well. However, it’s highly unlikely that he would continue at Manchester United next season.
United fielded many fringe players, with RB Aaron Wan-Bissaka and forward Mason Greenwood being the only two players who were consistently starting for Manchester United in the Premier League. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also started Jesse Lingard, who had an amazing time on loan at West Ham.
With the signings of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, United is primed to battle for the Premier League title this season. A deep run in the UEFA Champions League is also a possibility, but they will need to sign one or two more players to have a chance for winning the entire thing.

This is not a real possibility at United, where Bruno Fernandes, Jesse Lingard, and Donny van de Beek all start over him in the CAM position. However, a move back to an Italian club might work out for all parties. He has talked about going back to Lazio, and it’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
