Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has a tough job on his hands as he has the responsibility to make Arsenal challengers again. They finished 8th in the league last season, and he now has to cope with another injury for Thomas Partey. However, he does seem to have the backing of the club owners this time around.

Arsenal signed Brighton defender Ben White in a big-money move after signing Nuno Tavares from Benfica. They are still linked with Inter Milan’s young phenom Lautaro Martinez, who will transform the team. With the possible additions of either Martin Odegaard or James Maddison also a possibility, Arsenal has done good business this season.

However, they have a young superstar of their own. Bukayo Saka had a horrible time after England’s penalty shootout loss to Italy in the final of the Euros. Saka missed England’s final spot-kick and faced a lot of abuse on social media for it. Arteta provided some updates on the wunderkind and said that he’d be back soon.

He’s back very soon. He needed some holidays, and he needed to be away. He had an incredibly busy year, and he will be back with us in the next few days. We’re looking forward to seeing him,” Arteta revealed.

Mikel Arteta gives an update on the injury sustained by Thomas Partey.

Arguably the club’s most gifted midfielder, Thomas Partey, sustained another injury in Arsenal’s pre-season friendly against city rivals Chelsea. Partey was forced to come off before half-time after the Ghanaian started the match against the Blues as he lasted just 40 minutes.

I just had a talk with the doctor, and he will have a scan tomorrow. At the moment, it is not looking good because he was in pain, and he could not continue, which for Thomas is pretty unusual,” Arteta said.
