Borussia Dortmund are undoubtedly a juggernaut in the Bundesliga. While Dortmund often challenge for talents, unlike other competitors often sell their most valuable assets. This time around, the German giants sold yet another young star in Jadon Sancho.

Sancho who developed into an incredible winger with Dortmund was integral to the offense run by the German side. Be it his incredible pace or his impeccable dribbling skills, Sancho was a nightmare for Bundesliga defenses.

To replace a player of Sancho’s ability the Germans are bringing in Dutch international Donyell Malen.

In a recent report by insider Fabrizio Romano, Dortmund have already agreed a fee of 30 million and might announce the signing very soon. The Black and Yellow even posted a cryptic video ahead of Malen’s arrival. But who is Donyell Malen?

Donyell Malen might not be a household name like Sancho but eagle eyed viewers and fans might be aware who the Dutch international is. Starting off his career with Arsenal, Malen rarely got an opportunity to prove himself with the Gunners.

With chances rarely given at the Londoners, Malen left the Premier League giants and joined Dutch side PSV Eindhoven. Malen showed incredible promise since his transfer to PSV. After a 2018-19 campaign where he had 14 goal contribution in the Dutch League, a young Malen broke out in the 2019-20 season with 13 goal contribution in 14 games before suffering from an injury.

Many doubted whether the Dutch international could make a comeback or not, but the 22-year-old answered his critics in some style. Chipping in with 19 goals and 8 assists, Malen undoubtedly was one of the best in the Eredivisie. A big move to an European giant has been a long time coming for a talent like Malen.

With his ability to play as a striker or even a winger, Malen’s versatility is one of his strongest suits. Using his incredible pace, Malen can out-pace defenders at ease and unlike traditional wingers his finishing is also impressive. He underrated playmaking skills can also be helpful in a Dortmund attack buzzing with talents like Erling Haaland.
