Mason Greenwood is one of the most promising stars in the entire Manchester United squad. The 19-year-old sensation has already established himself as one of the best forwards on the team. His performances in recent times have been phenomenal. Recently in a chat with the club’s website, Greenwood mentioned Olympic legend Usain bolt as one of his inspirations.

Bolt has been a record-breaker throughout the years while he was an active competitor. The Jamaican sprinter put the world to notice at the 2008 Beijing Olympics first. He made world records for 100 meters and 200 meters races. Bolt managed to recapitulate his performances at the 2012 London Olympics as well.

For me, it’s got to be Usain Bolt. I used to love my athletics when I was younger. I used to love watching it with my parents and two sisters. He’s a good inspiration. He was a world leader at what he used to do. So, it’s probably him,” said Greenwood when asked about which celebrity he would like to meet if given the opportunity.

A supreme athlete like Bolt is hailed by athletes all over the world. So, the fact Greenwood idolizes the Jamaican sprinter, shouldn’t come as a surprise to his fans.

How will Mason Greenwood fare in the new season?

Greenwood is a phenomenal player for his tender age. His finishing ability has been visible to the supporters of the Red Devils since the Englishman has been an academy player. The fact that he is equally equipped with both his feet in terms of shooting, is something exceptional. Also, his cutting inside style to find the top bin with his left foot reminds fans of Robin Van Persie.
