Amidst all the talk going around in the community, we now have some pretty solid news about the aforementioned possibility. According to the popular Fortnite data miner and leaker, iFireMonkey, the game will soon be getting an NBA crossover event along with community battles. This one will be part of an official collaboration between Fortnite and the NBA. Players can support one of the 30 NBA teams and lead it to victory by playing the game.

Basically, what players have to do is select one of the 30 NBA teams and complete different in-game Daily Tasks. Completion of these tasks will grant them points for their team.

Based on your placement on the leaderboard at the end of the Community Battles, Fortnite will grant you various rewards. For instance, if your team finishes first on the leaderboard, you will win 500 V-Bucks. The Second and Third positions will earn 300 and 100 V-Bucks, respectively. Furthermore, those who complete at least three daily tasks stand to win a Fortnite spray as a participation reward.

According to these leaks, the event will commence on May 12th and will end on the 16th. Players will be able to register themselves from May 10. Once they have registered, they can begin the completion of the Daily Tasks from the 12th.

Players will need to need to register themselves on a website. However, they might need to hurry with the registration. Although the website supports one million registrations, only 550,000 ones are for fans. The rest are for the members.
