The latest sport to become a part of Fortnite’s universe is Basketball. This has been possible because of the latest crossover with NBA, as the jerseys of all the 30 teams in the league will soon be available for the players.

The collaboration with NBA implies that there will be a wide range of cosmetic items that will now be up for sale. These include jerseys of all 30 league teams, the Hookshot Emote, Dribblin’ Traversal Emote, and the Mini Hoop Back Bling.

Alongside these new skins, NBA stars Donovan Mitchell and Trae Young have created their own lockers. These lockers will comprise the favorite skins of both the players, and will soon arrive in the Item Shop.

LA Lakers claim the first position in Community Battles

Another interesting aspect of Fortnite’s crossover with the NBA are Team Battles. Players simply have to join a team, and complete challenge tasks that are currently present in the game. For every action, they will win a point that shall lead their team to victory.

Here are the in-game rewards for taking part in Community Battles:

• Fortnite Spray– Complete three tasks
• Fortnite Banner– Complete five tasks
• 100 V-Bucks– Member of the 3rd place team
• 300 V-Bucks– Member of the 2nd place team
• 500 V-bucks and the NBA Championship Trophy Back Bling– Member of the 1st place team

This event will last for five days, and a maximum of 15,000 members can join a single team.

As for now, LA Lakers is the only team with 15,000 members already. Other teams on the list such as Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors, have surprisingly not even reached the 1,000 members mark yet.

From the looks of it, it seems like the LA Lakers will comfortably win the NBA Team Battles in Fortnite. However, millions of other players in the community can still pick other teams and try their best to win the exclusive 1st place rewards.
