Cheaters have always been present in video games and, as of late, Fortnite has witnessed many. Although cheating is pretty bad, no one deserves to receive threats, let alone death threats. Unfortunately, this happened last month to one player who was involved in multiple tournaments.

Fortnite player receives threats
Fortnite player Bucktee accused fellow teammate bman of cheating during a game. Bucktee found that bman was using hacks, without the team’s knowledge. It was supposedly during the daily trios cup and the Bugha cup. The Bugha cup was recently announced with hefty prize pools as an anniversary celebration of the Fortnite World Cup winner.
So yesterday, @BuckteeFN (part of my trio) found that our third member, @bmanFN, was secretly using hacks without our knowledge.
…during daily trio cups AND bugha cup.
I'm posting this to show how easily these hacks are accessible and can go multiple tournaments undetected 🤷♂️ pic.twitter.com/OYCY8jC2MP

In a subsequent tweet, Bucktee stated that he hated doing it, but otherwise, bman would have played in the Bugha cup final, having reached the position with the use of hacks. Bucktee had attached a screenshot of their conversation as well. bman acknowledged that it was his fault and he deserves what’s coming.

However, what followed was in no way justified. The pro started receiving death threats. He shared a couple of them on Twitter, but then deleted all his social media accounts. The comments he received were too vulgar and it’s understandable why he opted to stay away from social media.
We are not trying to justify what he did, by any means. Cheating is in no way acceptable and such players deserve to be banned. However, threatening his life because of that is unrequired.
End of the day, games are meant for fun and excitement. We get that competitive games mean a lot to the pros. In fact, some more deserving players might have been left out of Bugha Cup finals because of the aforementioned cheats and hacks. However, threatening someone for this is a bit much.
