With all that is going on in the world, a distraction in the form of a party seems very welcome. Halloween was perhaps the first instance where people could do exactly that. A good indicator of the relief it brought was a Fortnite pro who quit in the middle of an FNCS Grand Final to go attend a Halloween party.

Jokes apart, the player’s teammates were absolutely livid, and for good reason. The anger did not stop there, though, as the Fortnite community frowned upon it as well. To quit in the middle of a championship with a $200,000 prize pool on the line is certainly peculiar.

Pledge, a Fortnite pro, quite the FNCS finals to attend a Halloween party

The squad, comprising of Pledge, Connor, and Gage, had qualified for the FNCS finals through a wild card entry match. For those who do not know, the wild card entry match is a one-time “winner takes it all” opportunity for squads that failed to qualify for the Grand Finals. The team performed exceptionally well in the match and deserved the spot at the FNCS finals.

However, on the day of the Grand Finals, Pledge sent a message to his teammates Gage and Connor saying that he will be leaving for the day to attend a Halloween party.

Now, we understand his teammates’ anger, and it is certainly warranted. However, perhaps we should look at Pledge’s side as well. We do not know anything about it, but it’s all very abrupt and weird, to say the least. But for us to know, Pledge will have to speak up.
