“Frankie Is Avoiding This Fight”-Pedro Munhoz Calls Out Frankie Edgar

UFC bantamweight contender Pedro Munhoz wants to fight the former lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar. But this doesn’t seem to fall into place.
Munhoz cannot seem to book a fight and the pandemic isn’t the only thing standing in his way. The bantamweight fighter in an interview with Ag Fight said a fight against Frankie Edgar was in talks before the entire live sporting industry was put on pause. And we saw a number of events being postponed and even some canceled.
However, Pedro Munhoz was of the opinion that Frankie was avoiding the fight. He constantly kept him in the dark about his future fights.
Munhoz said, “We were beginning a negotiation before the pandemic. I called out some names, like Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber. Some Edgar talks began to arise, but nothing official. After the pandemic, I didn’t hear anything from them (the UFC) for about six weeks.”

“These last two weeks, I thought the fight was going to fall through, because of some of his interviews. The UFC kind of confirmed the date with me, but it seems Frankie is avoiding this fight because it’s not been easy (the negotiation). I have nothing official, no contract. But verbally, I was going to fight on June 6.”

The event on the 6th of June was originally supposed to be UFC 251, to take place in Perth, Australia. Since we’ve seen how all the events outside the United States have been canceled, this too will probably have to be shifted to America.
Munhoz has been on an amazing run. He’s won 4 out od his last 5 bouts. His only loss coming at his last outing. He was defeated at the hands of Aljamain Sterling, via a unanimous decision. But prior to this fight, he was on a three-fight winning streak.
