Totti's Selfie celebration. He has been known for his variety of goal scoring celebrations

Italian football has been home to some of the finest players, ever to grace the game such as Alessandro Del Peiro, Andrea Pirlo, Paolo Maldini, Gianlugi Buffon, Roberto Baggio and so on. He made his debut in 1993 and has been the club captain since 1998. With the Italian legend’s contract expiring at the end of the season, the curtain may well close on an extraordinary career which included a World Cup winners medal, the European golden shoe and the Scudetto . The people of the Eternal City will miss their legendary savior , but before he bows down and hangs up his boots for good, let us take a look at some of his finest goals in the Serie [tps_header][/tps_header][tps_title][/tps_title]A.

No.5 Roma vs Juventus :2-1

No.5 on our list features this absolute pile driver from the Italian legend. Totti was the man for the big occasion, always turning up with an important goal, especially against some of Roma’s biggest rivals. This goal clearly portrays some of Totti’s excellent finishing abilities, smacking the ball first time into the top corner, from 25 yards out. Even the legendary Gianlugi Buffon couldn’t keep this one out.

No.4  Lazio vs Roma: 1-5

The Prince of Rome, as he is fondly called, has publicly stated his hatred for rival club Lazio on numerous occasions. He has had  some fond memories of scoring against Roma’s greatest rivals but none will be sweeter than this astonishing 25 yard chip in the Olympic stadium. Totti had provided the icing on the cake to Roma’s 5-1 demolition against Lazio, picking up the ball from 25 yards out and lobbing the keeper. A truly exquisite goal and one that will live long in the memory of the Roma supporters.

No.3 Roma Vs Udinese:3-1

The next goal on our list features this trademark volley by Totti against Udinese. One of the hallmarks of Totti’s game was his ability to finish emphatically with both feet. Totti ghosted into the far post unmarked and struck the ball firmly with his left foot. The ball nestled into the far corner, leaving the goal keeper absolutely helpless.

No.2 Roma vs Inter: 3-2

This next goal is undoubtedly one of the greatest goals in Serie A history. The clashes between Roma and Inter have always been feisty with an abundance of great goals. But the Italian legend may well have scored the greatest of them all. Picking the ball up from the center circle, Totti ran at the Inter defense beating two players and then displayed an astonishing bit of creativity and skill by chipping the keeper from outside the penalty box. Watch the video to truly appreciate the beauty of this goal.
