“Fuelled My Creativity”: Naomi Osaka Reveals Her Interests Outside Tennis

Former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka is one of the genuine forces in the women’s game. In recent years, the Japanese matched her success on the tennis courts with her accomplishments outside the tennis courts too. She happens to be one of the most popular athletes, not just in tennis but in the entire sporting community. 

The Japanese star is one of the most marketable athletes in the world. In the past month, Naomi signed endorsement deals with French super-luxury brand, Louis Vuitton. She also penned a deal with Swiss luxury watchmaker, TAG Heuer, to be one of the faces of the company.

She recently spoke about her liking for fashion and styling. The World No. 3 stated, “My passion for style and design is something that I’ve had since I was a kid. When I was little, my sister and I used to draw on our really long road trips. I’m very grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had and the chance to learn from all the people I’ve met, they’ve really inspired me and fueled my creativity over the years.”

Naomi revealed that she doesn’t take things for granted and that she remains grateful for the people she’s come across over the years, who have had an influence on her tastes in fashion.

In the previous tennis season, Naomi won the US Open for the second time in her career. At the moment, the three-time Grand Slam winner is currently in Adelaide, where she is part of the ‘A Day at the Drive’ exhibition event. After that, she will travel to Melbourne to compete at the season’s first Major. The 2019 Australian Open champion will look to add to her Grand Slam tally.
