Beyond their tennis, the couple, Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina have decided to do something off the court. Gael Monfils through to the quarterfinals of Estoril Open 2019 and his girlfriend, Elina Svitolina has not stepped on the tennis courts since her Miami Open 2019 opening round defeat.

The Ukrainian has been suffering from knee pain and struggled with it throughout the ‘American Swing’. The World Number six, Elina Svitolina was stunned by the wildcard entrant, Bianca Andreescu at Indian Wells 2019.

According to the sources, the pair, Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina have decided to feature in a documentary film and the works related to the factual film have already begun. Before the Roland Garros 2019 gets underway, the documentary featuring Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina will be released.

Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina formalized their relationship during the Australian Open 2019. Also, the couple has collectively decided to raise funds for underprivileged children in Ukraine. They denote $100 to the Odessa Children’s Hospital in Ukraine for every single ace they hit during their matches.

The World Number 18 tennis player, Gael Monfils received a 3-6, 6 -3, 6-0 victory over the American, Reilly Opelka. The 21-year-old American received plenty for leaving the Frenchman stranded on the Portuguese tennis court.

Opelka was serving in the serving set at 6-3, 2-5 (40/30), the wind on the clay court averted the direction of his serve and delivered an unexpected ace. It was the uncanniest ace in ATP tennis. Monfils cheerfully responded with a ‘thumbs up’ and later, closed out the match.

Up next, the third seed, Monfils will play the Spanish qualifier, Alejandro Davidovich who eliminated his compatriot, Jeremy Chary. Besides Gael Monfils, the Greek lad, Stefanos Tsitsipas surpassed Guido Andreozzi 6-3, 6-4 and his through to the quarterfinals of the Estoril Open 2019.
