Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina Reveal How They Stay In Touch During The Busy Tour and Much More

Social Media helps a lot in keeping in touch with your favorite athletes even during the off-season. Recently, the French-Ukrainian tennis couple, Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina, answered some fan questions on Instagram. In the session, we learned who the better cook is and who rules at the tennis table among many other things.

The 26-year-old Ukrainian has a career high Number 3 ranking  while Monfils has reached as far as Number 6. Together since 2019, the couple even has a combined social media handle called the G.E.M.S Life. They are currently holidaying in Spain before the season resume in 2021.

Tennis being a traveling sport is often blamed for distance among tennis players’ relationships. But again, technology has now bridged the gap of miles between people. On how they stay in touch with tennis and generally, Elina and Gael talked about their year-long routine.

“We are traveling together most of the year [because] ATP and WTA has many joint events. But if not then FaceTime,” answered the couple.

This led to questions about their lives besides tennis. It revealed that the 2 time Grand Slam semifinalist Svitolina is a better cook than Gael.

Additionally, the couple also revealed how and with whom they are going to celebrate the coming holiday season.

They replied, “Just [the two] of us. Don’t know where yet.”

Following that, the 34-year-old French professional revealed that he naps more than the Ukrainian.

Monfils and Svitolina shut-eye over marriage questions

The duo undeniably makes a fine couple. However, they preferred to remain silent over questions regarding their marriage.

Aside from the talking, Elina and Gael are preparing for the upcoming 2021 Australian Open starting from February next year. Interestingly, both of them have been two-time semifinalisst at a major tournament. They will aim to breach into their first Grand Slam finals Down Under.

Starting their training in Spain, they might have a strategy in place. But can the power couple now push each other to deliver some great tennis?
