A 3rd Person Action Game From The Last of Us and Days Gone Devs Was in the Works

Recently spotted details on a LinkedIn profile of an ex-senior Gameplay Animator from Bend Studios stated that he has worked along with Naughty Dog for an unannounced project during his time at previous employment. Although there isn’t much information about the collaboration available, fans have been wondering what the two studios have been up to.

Details of an unannounced Naughty Dog and Bend Studio Collaboration

It looks like Naughty Dog and Bend Studios were working on a project together sometime between 2020 and 2022. While there are no details about what the collaboration could be about, a Tweet by tech enthusiast Zuby_Tech, with a screenshot of the LinkedIn profile showcases that the studios were working together.

Information about the joint project emerged from Adam Lawson’s LinkedIn profile. Lawson was a former Senior Game Animator at Bend Studio before he joined Archetype Entertainment. The LinkedIn profile revealed his involvement in both an “Unannounced Naughty Dog project” and an “Unannounced Bend Studio project.”

The post was captioned “Looks Like Bend Studio And Naughty Dog Were Working On Something Together.”  Zuby_Tech dropped some more details in the comments where he claims that the project that the two studios were working on was a third-person action game. However, as this is not confirmed by the devs, this detail should be taken with a grain of salt.

The thought of a new third-person game made by Naughty Dog and Bend Studio sparked many speculations among fans. So far, there has been no official announcement of any collaboration and fans might or might not get to see a new game as a result of the studios working together.

Speculating the possibilities of the game that Adam Jason worked on

Considering that Naughty Dog has two major titles, the prevailing theories suggest the project Adam might have worked on could be either The Last of Us Online or a new Uncharted game. In response to speculations, the directors of Bend Studio explained that they collaborated with Naughty Dog on an Uncharted spinoff, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and assisted with The Last of Us Online.

Although the directors made an effort to shut down any speculation of what the studios were planning, there was no stopping the curious fans. Other speculations included the devs working on a new Days Gone game. Along with that, fans also expected Bend Studio to release a new Syphon Filter game.

Recently Naughty Dog announced that they cancelled the production of The Last of Us Online, which has many fans wondering if that was the last project that Jason worked on with Bend Studio. While these are all speculations, other fans started to wonder if there was a new IP project that the two studios were collaborating on.

Beyond speculation, it must be noted that the project Jason was working on could be scrapped just the way Naughty Dog decided to discontinue working on The Last of Us online.
