A seal of approval from the BG3 makers is nothing but a feather in the cap for Remedy. The Publishing Director of Larian Studios feels the horror sequel is a benchmark. Michael Douse, director of publishing at Larian Studios wrote, “Alan Wake 2 has this lifelike, pristine gorgeousness you get with the perfect marriage of in-house tools & creative direction. Years of fine tuning to execute an exact, toiled aesthetic. An entire ecosystem designed to do just one thing: this exact game. It’s a brilliant thing.”

Furthermore, the director pointed out how the gripping narrative of Alan Wake 2 reminds him of a book. He stated, “I can’t stop thinking about Garth Marenghi’s Terrortome. A book about a bad writer being attacked by his own imagination because of a cursed typewriter succubus,” in a thread.
The praises for the Remedy sequel didn’t stop here. Michael later highlighted the impact lights have on the gameplay. Going beyond the combat set pieces, Douse felt the game pulls off magic throughout the gameplay with its own point use of lighting.
