While most of the attacks have been targeted at extracting information on GTA 6, this time the hackers have expressed an interest in GTA 5 too. After the massive GTA 6 leak in 2022, the hackers have once again targeted the Rockstar.

The game suffered another data breach where a hacker managed to get their hands on the source code of some of Rockstar’s games. The leak surfaced on X. The post suggested that the source code for Rockstars’ current running title has been leaked. Looking at the situation the game has found itself in, fans have taken to the social media platform to express their thoughts.

Rockstar Games gets hacked again

Reports of the recent data breach state that Rockstar was hit yet again. In fact, this time it was not just GTA 5 that found itself at the receiving end of the threat but Bully 2 was also mined. Consequently, the attack has many fans’ eyes on the reports as Rockstar has not yet made any announcement for a sequel to the 2008 Bully.

Among the leaked files, there is also a folder called Project Americas which is the code name for GTA 6.According to the reports the Hacker managed to download the source code of the two games and decided to share them online.

Many posts were made on X where a folder containing all the files of the source code of the gamers was shown. Although there are many reports of the breach, Rockstar Games has not yet made a statement about the same. So far, it is yet unconfirmed if the leaked files are legitimate source codes.

However, the community has already started empathizing with Rockstar on account of getting hacked frequently. As a result, the gaming community started taking to X to share their opinion on the reported leaks.

Fans share their perspective on the Rockstar Hacks

One user shared the news in their style while expressing how this was an “awful news for Rockstar games this Christmas.” They added how this incident is similar to the ransomware leakers stealing 1.67TB of files from Insomniac Games.

Surprised by how things have been in the gaming space, another user couldn’t help but question about who could be behind these hackings.

A fan tried to understand how this affects Rockstar Games. They asked the question that probably haunted the minds of many gaming fans.

Meanwhile, another user expressed his disappointment with the gaming community due to the hacker’s actions. They shared a rather harsh statement by saying the community does not deserve GTA 6 because of such incidents.

Considering the hacker who leaked GTA 6 details is now in hospital prison for life, one of the user expressed that it looks like another hacker wants to live a similar fate.

Overall, fans have been disappointed to see a studio get hit with leaks. The repeated attacks on studios by hackers have started to make fans understand the difficulties of working on such projects.
