In simple words, Smosh advises all enthusiastic creators to focus on passion instead of numbers. It’s interesting to see the creators highlighting the point of copycats trying to mimic MrBeast aiming at a similar community response. Sounds familiar?

Well, even the creator of the year has himself pointed out a lot of times previously that the formula that has worked for him cannot work for every individual creator out there. Moreover, Jimmy himself has been a preacher of ‘passion’ over anything.

What does MrBeast think about the ‘copycats’?

There have been a lot of times when MrBeast has decoded his approach to creating content. Most of the time, he has revealed how he likes to study what his audiences would like to feed on and serves it in the grandest way possible. Of course, in doing so there are a lot of hurdles that come across, and one major issue of these being the content ‘copycats’.

Talking about the patterns of young creators trying to mimic MrBeast, he said, “I wish people would… there is inspiration and then there is stealing. So many people just steal what I do! So many people just put their face on my face or steal my thumbnail, say verbatim what I say at the start of videos, and like all my things. I literally come here and tell you guys every little thing I know about getting views on youtube. Tens of thousands of creators have watched those and that’s the reason why they’re making $10k plus a month. They’re like ‘Oh, Jimmy just laid it out’ and followed it.”

So, it looks like a clear message from the biggest creators of YouTube is that it’s more about originality and passion than just following the footsteps of your idol. Certainly, with MrBeast’s popularity in the creator space, it’s hard to avoid ‘copycats’. Thus, in many ways, he has changed the format to content forever.
