We are still within the month of the launch of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and the devs are already rolling out large updates. The game is still in its initial phase while more new content will be added. The game has gained some incredible traction since its launch with over 6.5 million copies sold within the first 24 hours of its release.

Many more players are joining the game and the player base is only growing. During Thanksgiving, the game saw a huge rise in its player base. Along with the announcement of a new record in active players, the devs had some exciting news to give players.

The Thanksgiving holiday gave players a lot of time to play the new Call of Duty game. Many utilized the holiday to grind up their Modern Warfare 3 accounts to unlock many Armory Unlocks. The devs took to Twitter to make a post stating “MW3 players racked up the most hours per player for a new premium Call of Duty release during the holiday weekend since 2019.”

Along with this announcement the devs stated that they have a new update coming in which will bring the long-awaited Shipment maps to the game. This news has many players excited to see how the game mode will play out in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is bringing back the popular Shipment map. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the return of Shipment. The Shipment map is set to return on November 29. The game will also feature a new playlist called Rustment 24/7. This playlist will combine both Rust and Shipment maps for an action-packed experience.

In terms of Weekly Playlists and Events, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 consistently receives weekly updates to its playlists, ensuring a dynamic and engaging gaming experience. Notably, special events like the recent Double XP event, aligned with Thanksgiving, contribute to the game’s sustained appeal.

This eliminates the need for matchmaking new games and presents a potential solution to concerns regarding player continuity.

Regarding the Map Controversy, Modern Warfare 3 initially deployed 16 maps repurposed from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. Despite visual enhancements to these maps, the lack of new content disappointed some players.

As for Season 1 Updates, Modern Warfare 3’s inaugural season introduces three entirely new 6v6 maps and 1 Gunfight map. The inclusion of the Shipment map in Season 1 responds to the demand for fresh and innovative content.
