Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has got a lot of solid weapon options. However, just like its predecessors, few guns are simply hated by players. The latest case is regarding a specific SMG that has kept a lot of users frustrated in the Multiplayer matches, due to its poor output in online encounters.

Modern Warfare 3 launched with various SMGs like Striker, WSP-9, and Rival-9. But there’s one more gun that seems to have become the contender for the most annoying weapon alternative to say the least. In fact, some of the players have recently expressed their disappointment towards this gun on the internet.

The one SMG you should fully avoid right now in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

It might get confusing for some of the players but there’s a submachine gun called Striker-9. No, it’s not the generally praised variant Striker, but a different one altogether. With that being said, Striker-9 was initially revealed with the release of Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. When Striker got nerfed out, users tried to seek other options in order to make their new Meta loadouts.

Striker-9 was one such SMG that many players believed was good for them. But it seems like they were wrong about it. On Reddit, one individual who got upset by Striker-9 shared a post while expressing total disappointment towards the weapon.

There are two main reasons due to which the Redditor has called it a “painfully bad” SMG to equip in Multiplayer:

  1. An awful damage value even at point blank distance.

  2. Inconsistency and poor recoil.

Striker-9 can be unlocked after reaching Level 4 in the game. But if the players are no longer interested in this gun, they can look further. Their best option can be the Rival-9 SMG. The latter is a close range beast to dominate Multiplayer encounters where the situation can get too intense very rapidly. Moreover, it’s got an impressive TTK (time-to-kill) as well. Players thus get an opportunity to have an edge during close-quarter combat engagements.

However, when it comes to unlocking Rival-9, it’s not part of the traditional process. Players can obtain this SMG through the newly introduced Armory Unlock system. First, they have to reach Level 25 in Modern Warfare 3 by showing consistency in scoring more kills. Once the level is attained, they have to finish three daily or bonus challenges to earn Rival-9 in the game.

Hopefully, this gun will decrease the frustration players may have after going through the experience of Striker-9. Coming back to the latter, it will be interesting to see if the devs will make it a good gun or not with future updates. They may help it to become a fan-favorite once again.
