The God of War saga is one of the most popular action-adventure games on the PlayStation. Initially released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, the series has grown over the last 18 years. With almost two decades of the series running and one major reboot of the franchise, many fans have one question on their minds. Is the Valhalla DLC the end of God of War?

This question made its debut when in God of War 3, Kratos ends up killing his father Zeus. Many fans thought that it would be the end of the God of War, but Santa Monica Studio had bigger plans for the franchise. When God of War was released in 2018, fans understood that this franchise was not going away anytime soon. Fans didn’t take too long to complete the Ragnarok Valhalla DLC, which was launched on December 12. With the credits rolling up after the DLC, many fans started wondering about the future of the game.

This question sparked intrigue in the community. Many gamers knew what the user was talking about, while others wondered if God of War had more games coming in the future. Though not forgiving himself completely, Kratos accepts his past and is ready to move forward to become a leader again, helping rebuild realms and restore peace. The DLC concludes with Kratos leaving Valhalla, pledging to be what the people need.

Michael Beckwith, the author, emphasizes the thematic appropriateness of shifting focus to Atreus and exploring new adventures or quests in different realms. The author suggests that a new God of War game, rumored to be in development, could continue the narrative in a way that maintains the closure Kratos received.

God of War fans speculate about the future possibilities for the games

One player shares their experience of playing the Valhalla DLC. They stated how they played the game for just 6-7 hours and said it was the most enjoyable DLC they have played. The warm message shared how passionate the player is. A mention of swimming across 11,000kms to hug the community was made.

Surprised at what the original poster said, one user asked the question on many player’s minds.

The end of the Valhalla DLC was an emotional one for this player. They mentioned how they couldn’t stop crying during the end credits.
