The Warzone battle royale in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will soon receive a new feature called Covert Exfil. Since it’s recent reveal by the devs, several fans have expressed different reactions to how it may affect their experience. Ahead of Season 1 Reloaded update, devs have now listened to them while making a big decision on Covert Exfil’s introduction.

Warzone experience was revamped last year with tons of movement-specific changes. Compared to the previous iteration of the game mode, under Modern Warfare II, players are now liking it more. However, many of them were concerned about the upcoming Covert Exfil feature due to a major reason. But now, they need not worry about it anymore.

Covert Exfil will have its dedicated mode for Call of Duty Warzone

For the uninitiated, Covert Exfil is going to be a new way to escape the battle royale map of Call of Duty Warzone. Using this option, players will be able to leave the match before it ends with the usual format. Plus, they won’t be required to survive till the end by defeating rest of their opponents. All they have to do is equip the Covert Exfil feature by purchasing it in order to successfully extract out of the game – and mark it as a win technically.

Raven Software, the studio behind Warzone, recently dropped a new post on social media platform X. The devs addressed players’ concerns and doubts over Covert Exfil. Many of them have been thinking the standard battle royale would get affected in a bad way. That’s because it will eliminate the tradition of having to be the ‘last one standing’ to register the victory.

“We believe that Covert Exfil and the gameplay loop it provides, paired with the Weapons Case, will make for an exciting addition to #Warzone. That said, we’ll instead launch both of these features in an upcoming dedicated mode. We’re looking forward to the new challenges that these features will provide and to your continued feedback once the mode is available“, read the post from Raven Software.

Looking at the post, it’s clear the feature won’t be present with the arrival of Season 1 Reloaded for Modern Warfare 3. The update is set to release on January 17, 2024. Interestingly, devs have now decided that Covert Exfil will be introduced with its own dedicated mode instead. Also, it will be having the addition of the Weapons Case.

The Weapons Case will spawn in a small area at the start of every match. The moment it’s found by a player, that player will be marked for all enemies throughout the match. If the player holding this Weapons Case manages to stay alive till the end or their teammates in a Squad end up making an exfil, by purchasing a Covert Exfil, there will be exclusive rewards awaiting them eventually.

Both Covert Exfil and Weapons Case features will now get postponed for a future update. Until then, players will have to wait for their arrival with a dedicated mode inside Warzone.
